I rarely write reviews, but I feel this DVD deserves one...First, I would like to say "Thanks" to Guy. Your training skills translated well in this dvd and it help me immensely. I like how you replayed over and over the same steps and the Icons and Terminology.... To anyone contemplating this DVD; Get it... It's worth the high price. It saved me a lot of time and frustration. Why? The dvd does what I wish more dvd's would do... Save me from hitting the "=" (Pause) and "<<" (Back) buttons to see something demonstrated. This dvd does that for you so you can see Guy demonstrate how to do it right and it also shows others (Novices like me) doing the same mistakes I made... It also breaks down the different components of Jibing (sp?) into 5 steps and then goes over and over them... I watched the first section 3 times, practiced in my living room for 10 minutes, went out on the water a few days later and was able to pretty much repeat what I had seen... THis dvd is expensive. I decided to buy it anyway because I liked Cribb's youtube video.I think that it's a very well made and polished video with step by step and some VERY useful tips on an array of intermediate/advanced windsurf skills. I would suggest going in on a copy with a buddy and sharing it- you won't want to watch it more than once - certainly not all the way through as it's more of a tutorial. I appreciate Cribb's teaching skills, however I do think this video is overpriced at $50+ bucks. So, I recommend it, but also recommend they lower the price a bit. Happy sailing. |
